Sys­temic psy­chother­a­py sees the per­son from its whole per­spec­tive, bio­log­i­cal, psy­cho­log­i­cal and social and under­lines the sig­nif­i­cance of the human fac­tor, while estab­lish­ing it as an active mem­ber of the human sys­tems. The painful trau­mas of the past are exam­ined, as well as the defence mech­a­nisms of the self. The under­stand­ing of the uncon­cious process­es and of the intra-psy­chic con­flict is seen as indis­pens­able, in order to release the con­cious deci­sions that will give pur­pose and mean­ing to one’s life.
